Mohamed joins the Global History program from the United Arab Emirates, where he pursued a Bachelors of arts in History at New York University Abu Dhabi. For his bachelor thesis, Mohamed focused on mythmaking and nostalgia for Al Andalus in Gulf televangelist programming, where televangelists excavate moral lessons from the (mythic) heroes and villains of Muslim Spain in order to interpret political and social developments in the present Arab context. Mohamed hopes to specialize in the history of oil companies in the Gulf.
